Uur U. De dag die je wist dat zou komen. Na gisteren alles ingepakt te hebben (doublecheck op paspoort en creditcard) kon het daarop volgende incheckproces alleen maar als uiterst teleurstellend worden beschreven. We hebben geboekt bij Virgin voor een vlucht die door Delta wordt uitgevoerd en op Schiphol door KLM wordt afgehandeld. Alle benodigde ingredi\u00ebnten om tijdens het online inchecken digitaal van het kastje naar de muur gestuurd te worden waren dus aanwezig en dat was merkbaar. Zelfs de onbruikbare adviezen van de ingeschakelde helpdesk mochten niet baten. Slechts extreme volhardendheid leverde uiteindelijk een paar geprinte instapkaarten (meteen op ons hoede voor meewarige blikken van jeugdige mede passagiers) op, die ondanks de hiervoor gebruikte superieure HP Laserjet slechts met moeite door de inferieure Schiphol scanners werden geaccepteerd. <br><br>Gelukkig reizen we inmiddels Op Stand zodat we via de Sky Priority FastLane uiterst vlot door zowel checkin, bagagedrop off en security heen wandelden. De vlucht was prima (10 uur hangen&#8230;.) en na aankomst verliep het bagage-douane-Hertz-proces in SLC uiterst vlot. Een uur na de landing zaten we dus al in de auto.
